Paifala video

  1. Love love love your blog.. It's always good to know how other ppl make and cook their foods.. I wanted to ask, I've always wanted to learn how to make German Buns, do have a recipe for that? If you do.. great.. if not, you know where I can get one?? I live in Utah and would love to make those for my kitchen.. Thanks a tons..

  2. Hi Norma, German buns get requested a lot. I'm working on it and will post as soon as I have a recipe. Yeah, island food is made many different ways, so hopefully more people are willing to share their recipes if I put mine out there. BTW, you have a beautiful family!

The kitchen was one area my beloved mother didn't really excel in : ) so I'm greatful that you have this blog and recipes of dishes I LOVE, but never knew how to make...I stumbled upon your video on youtube and found my way to your blog, and I feel like I'm home. So many people are stingy with their recipes and I don't know why. Sharing ensures that it's passed down to our future generations. Thank you for your loving and caring heart. Surely the Lord will bless you for that, and for your yummy food! Thanks again : )

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we have PIE WAR at work next week and i'm willing to make these for the contest (not just so much for the competition but for the judges/colleagues to TASTE a bit of our infamous paifala). so i guess a trip to the supermarket for ingredients is in order for tomorrow.. will let you know how it goes :) (i've always enjoyed watching one of my aunts in NZ make them but i was only 13? and i never picked up any part of the recipe.. and with your blog i feel like i can make my aunt proud by sending her a video of me making it on my own haha..thanks for sharing

  9. Thank you soooooo much! My brother and I grew up on these back home in Honolulu. It was his birthday on the 4th of this month and he kept talking about it. The only thing i changed was the size of the pineapple and they way i mixed the dough. It was actually an accident but EVERYONE loved it, they said they like when the pai crust is a little more firm than soggy. Im very pleased and now im the most amazing person in my family because i can make paifala!!!!! Im just hoping i dont have to make it for fundraisers or fa'alavelave. Lol
